GPS for Precision Farming
Global positioning system (GPS) devices have rapidly become essential gadgets in this age of modern technology. Although GPS devices are typically used for pinpointing the location of a particular destination and for locating animals and objects, their uses have vitally extended into the agriculture realm. The application of GPS devices in agriculture is widely known as precision farming.
An agricultural concept relying mostly on the existence of in-field variability, precision farming requires the utilisation of GPS devices and other supportive modern technologies in order to assess and understand variations. In precision farming, any GPS monitor can spot the location of a field to usually within one meter and then present valuable data that can be used by a farmer to regulate the machine application of pesticide and fertiliser automatically. Precision farming is important in a way that it greatly enhances an agricultural field or a farm management activity.
